I did a segment for A Walk Around the Blog about the state of the Williamsburg art scene, which originally aired on the Brooklyn Review news magazine. I talked to two really cool and informative people, artist William Powhida and Jack the Pelican owner Don Carroll, who examined how gentrification has affected artists and galleries in the neighborhood. Enjoy.
i don't know, i don't really care if artists are pushed out, i care that where they end up (further along the "L corridor"), they end up pushing out the people who already live there and pave the way for more of the same. chelsea didn't always have the vibe of a mall, but williamsburg may have more of one soon, as the businesses that flourish end up being the ones that cater to the wealthier new condo owners and such.

That is one good looking man. Are you really the blogger? A little too good to be true, if you ask me.
